The Annual Fall Colours Ride

This years ride is going to take us to Letchinworth State Park across the river in the good ole USA so you will need a passport and a full day set aside to do it. You will also need at least a 200cc scoot or bike. We will tour up state New York with stops for meals and ofcourse coffee.

I got a phone message from Tim, in which he said that he and Mike are considering rescheduling the ride to Oct. 5, with a rain date of the 12th. Sounds good to me. More colourful foliage, and less bugs. We might need our long woolies though. (Or our heated gear...ha, ha.)

    • Mike D.

If it is the 5th or the 12th I have to pass. Working every Saturday between now and the end of the year.

      September 22, 2013

    • Roy

Mike, I'm just repeating what Tim said, and to let people know that a reschedule was in the works. Nor did I say the dates were definite. Please work it out with Tim, and if you can't re-arrange your work schedule or the ride date, I'll help Tim with the ride.

      September 22, 2013

  • Dana

    Sorry, I ment Can't make 28.

    September 21, 2013

  • Dana

Let/s go Sunday Sept.29. I Can' make it Saturday 28.

    September 21, 2013

  • Barb

Hey guys, we never crossed the border today. We met at Timmies, in Jordan, had a yak and watched it continue to pour outside. Give Tim and Mike a chance to reschedule. They wanted the ride too.

    September 21, 2013

    • Roy

Barb, props to you for going as far as Timmies in this weather. I'm willing to hold off for a reschedule, there is certainly lots of interest in this ride.

      September 21, 2013

  • Matt

I was really looking forward to this ride, but weather forecast is just too nasty for me.
Anybody want to play hookey next wed. and do the ride then?

    September 20, 2013

    • Matt

Wed.is the only day I can go. If there is enough interest in going another time next week maybe someone will step in and lead.

      September 21, 2013

    • Roy

I'll take you up on the wednesday suggestion. The later it gets, the iffier the weather. Talk to you tomorrow.

      September 21, 2013

  • Charles P.

Sounds good to me. Here in beautiful downtown Fonthill, we have no rain. Where do you guys live???? All we have is condensed water vapour on its way back to the sea. :)

    September 21, 2013

    • Roy

Matt, Brian and I live in the GTA. Where the smog condenses and runs into the sewers.

      September 21, 2013

  • Roy

Unfortunately, the weather reports are getting worse. 60% chance of showers in Ontario and 80% chance of rain in NY. Is there a rain date for this ride?

    September 18, 2013

    • Charles P.

Hey if next week works Roy, we could go with anyone that did not go tomorrow? What do you think?

      September 20, 2013

    • Roy

Sorry Charles, I answered Matts post before I saw yours. There certainly seems to be a lot of interest in this ride. Too bad the weather forcast is so grim.

He fellows I was looking forward to that fall colour drive on Sept.21.Regretably I can't. My scooter needs some work done, that is covered under warranty. But for that I have to go to Toronto to the
dealer. The warranty is running out next month. During the day I drive a school bus,and the 21st is the only day I,got. Hopefully there will be another opportunity. Honest I'm not copping out. Keep in touch.Jack T.

    • Charles P.

Hey Jack. I am checking with Roy about next weekend. If a few of us decide to go who missed tomorrow, why not?

      September 20, 2013

  • Dana

Looking forward to our great ride again. The Mount Morris Dam is something to see.

    September 16, 2013

    • Charles P.

Did you hear what one trout said to the other, when they were racing upstream and hit a solid concrete wall? One looks at the other and says, "Dam!"

      September 20, 2013

  • Brian

Still recovering from last fall. Don't want to risk another. So I will not be going on the ride

You should take a new nickname. I am almost 70 and a geek who had a computer business for 17 years. I still sell chairs for churches online. So you are NOT old. I cannot testify about your geekiness :-) See www.doc-computer.com

Looking not too good. Accuweather says Expect rainy weather this evening through tomorrow afternoon. Writing this Friday AM. For Rochester NY, Heavy rain and a thunderstorm. Batavia says rain tapering off but looks like it may take the day to do so. Next week rain date?

    September 20, 2013

    • Mike D.

Also come hungry people we will be stopping for breakfast just after we cross the border. Tim has a place picked out.

      September 20, 2013

    • Charles P.

Wonder where that may be. Pembroke?

      September 20, 2013

I did my first brake job a few days ago when my proper brake pads came from Connecticut. Wow I am so proud. Give me a home improvement and I will find a good way to do it but mechanics and I don't always agree. It's actually pretty simple with a scooter. Mine you can pull off a cover with your fingers and check brake wear. Did not know that until I loosened the two bolts to do the pads. Actually sorry Mike and Tim this should be in another section.

Actually upon checking accuweather most of the storm will be before 7 AM. However still rain chances of up to 65% until 2pm until it tapers down to 40% and less every hour. I still will see in morning. My wife is sick. I don't need to get sick too.

    September 20, 2013

If it is not raining in the morning, then I will be at Duty Free at 8:30 or sooner but if it is already bucketing down, at my age I may melt, get dissolved by the acid rain and then get flushed down a drain and end up who know's where? :-) If I had a number to phone I would phone one way or another but this is my only comm. method so best I can do.

    September 20, 2013

  • Roy

    Looks too nasty, I'm out.

    September 20, 2013

  • Mike D.

Charles be at Fort Erie duty free at 8:30 AM to join up with us.

    September 8, 2013

    • Charles P.

      I'll be there!

      September 16, 2013

    • Charles P.

Didn't know Tim had a baby :-) Or did you mean his wife? :-)

      September 16, 2013

  • Barb

An awesome park! 17 miles of twisty roads, nice scenery with walking trails, and several picnic areas. They have great camping here too! Looking forward to it.

    August 23, 2013

    • Charles P.

So are you going to stay overnight and camp, Barb? :-)

      September 16, 2013

  • Charles P.

Okay my intention is to be there. Sometimes things come up in my business or family that could change. But I plan to attend.

    September 8, 2013

  • Mike D.

Charles I only posted this run as it is Tim's baby. He was lacking Internet at the time. I will ask him about the bridges and times and get back to you.

    September 8, 2013

  • Charles P.

Great place. Also the ride there and back can be great too. Any route in particular chosen? Or can we plebes make suggestions :-)

I just discovered one very interesting ride by following my GPS which seems locked into taking country roads. Was on my way home from Cornwall visiting my buddy Barrie when I left the 90 at Batavia and ended up through some great roads, turns twists in Niagara Falls, headed to Rainbow bridge. I am guessing that if you put in Batavia, as a waypoint, the route might be repeated.

So instead of me meeting at Timmy's Jordan, can I meet you someplace before the bridge you are taking? Which bridge are you taking Mike?

    September 8, 2013

  • Dana

    I will be there.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
