A simple ride down to Port Dover to take-in the day's activities. Because of the hellish experience riding 5-15 km/hr in heavy stop-n-go motorcycle traffic all the way to Dover last year (left at 11:00 AM), I swore that it will be an early morning excursion next time around.
Advantages to leaving early: Time to park and find a decent spot, time to grab a coffee/breakfast, and time to walk around before the intensity starts. Ever try finding a bathroom/port-a-pottie, or even a bottle of water at peak time? Yeah, right.
Disadvantages to leaving early: You'll have to get your lazy arse out of bed. So set your alarm clock and prepare your kit the night before.
The pros outweigh the cons.
Meet at the Tim Horton's on 136 Kenilworth Avenue North, near Main. Google map:
CALL ME:[masked] if you want any updates.
This ride is weather dependant, and will be cancelled if there's rain in the forecast.
There will be a quick gas stop at the nearby Petro Canada for those that need to fill up.
Current forcast is a high of 16 and mix of sun and cloud... not great, but doable. You will require warmer gear for the morning run.
Motorcycle or scooter... bring what you have. Speeds will not exceed 85 km/hr.
I will need a Tail Gunner.
People will be leaving Port Dover at different times (due to various personal committments), so if you want to ride home in a group, pre-arrange with other members.
BTW, this ride is also open to our big sister club: The Toronto Moto Scooter Club (TMSC). If there are more than 10 RSVP'ed for the ride, we will separate into two separate groups.
See y'all on Friday!
