People Serving People

People Serving People (PSP) is a shelter for homeless children and their families. PSP provides new opportunities for healthy, stable family life. Help to serve and cleanup for lunch at People Serving People in Minneapolis. This is a 1 and 1/2 hour commitment from 11:30 AM to 1 PM. Depending on the time of the month and how many people are in residence, this can be a very busy, fast-paced session. Be prepared for anything! You can park FREE in their lot or on the street. Note: Parking meters are enforced, but you can find FREE parking on 5th Avenue or on 3rd Street west of 5th Avenue. If there is a Twins or Vikings game, please be aware that there may be delays, street closures or detours, so plan accordingly to arrive on time. Please sign in at the guard desk when you enter, then take the stairs or elevator down to the kitchen. If you do not want to wear a hair net you can wear a baseball cap. Note: PSP allows parents to bring children ages 16 and up. You must be committed for this event-do not RSVP if you think there's a chance you will cancel-they really are counting on us. If you change your RSVP less than 24 hours before the event you will be marked absent.

Of the 8 people who originally signed up, 5 showed up. We got by; if fewer than 5 we'd have had a tough time. Thank you to the other 4!
