Hey everyone I just received this e-mail and although it is short notice I was hoping that we would be able to come up 6 volunteers to help with Disability Days. I am not posting this event on the calendar but am asking that you call Anna from the Brain Injury Association of Minnesota directly on Friday January 29th if you can help.
Date: Thursday, February 11, 2010
Time: two shifts 9:30 ? 12:00 noon and 12:00 pm ? 2:30 pm
Place: State Capitol and State Office Building
Jobs: Greeters, Floaters, and Registration
These jobs have a lot to do with greeting people, answering questions about Capital directions, making sure people get to where they need to get to or have the assistance to do so. At the registration table you will be registering/checking in individuals, explaining the day?s agenda and information in their folders. It?s a nice opportunity to do something at the State Capitol for people who don?t go there on a regular basis.
Please have any interested parties call me, Anna, on Fri, Jan 29 if interested. I know that?s a very fast reply requested but I have lost some time this week due to illness and I just need to move forward. I need a total of 6 people?.two in each position.
We've given more than 4000 hours since December 2007!
We're a volunteer group dedicated to improving lives through good works. If you like to help others while making friends, this is the group for you!
We participate in a wide variety of projects all over the metro through various organizations. If you know a person or organization that is in need, please contact the organizer.
Adults ages 18 and over only, please. (Children may volunteer with their parents at some events. Please look for details on specific events, or ask the organizer.)
There are many more wonderful volunteer and donation opportunities than there can be events for our group. If we can't make an event from your suggestion at this time, or it isn't conducive to larger groups, please feel free to add it to the message board.
**Please note: A "Yes" RSVP means you are committed to be there. Organizations often depend on their volunteers as much as they do their employees to complete important tasks. Late cancellations and no-shows affect our ability to volunteer with these agencies in the future. Click "Files" or "About Us" on the left to see our policy.**
