Bingo at HAVEN Volunteer Event

  • June 15, 2013 · 12:30 PM

We will be hosting a fun filled afternoon of Bingo for the residents at HAVEN.  Directions to the shelter are posted here.

We ask that each volunteer that attends also bring either a snack or a prize for the residents that are playing.  Snacks ideas: cookies, chips, soda, paper cups, napkins, and paper plates.  Prize ideas: gift cards, candy bars, hair accessories, body lotion, books, and toys.  Please note in the comments here what you will be bringing.

Both adults and childrens will play with us.  At the shelter there are currently (they may not all come to play bingo with us):

Children of volunteers are allowed to come if they are at least 13 and they must stay with their parent.

HAVEN was founded in 1975 as the first and only sexual assault counseling center in Oakland County. In 1977, HAVEN broadened its services to include domestic violence counseling. Today, all of the programs at HAVEN provide specialized, comprehensive services in the areas of domestic violence and sexual assault. By serving the community through a series of innovative intervention, treatment, prevention and education programs, HAVEN can help individuals and families through all stages of crisis and help work toward our goal of eliminating domestic violence and sexual assault.

I had a ton of fun playing with the kids and learning more about the program. Such a wonderful resource for families that need emergency assistance.

I will be bringing the bingo set. My daughter is looking forward to calling numbers. I purchased disposable paper bingo cards so we can have several rounds and crayons to mark them. We are very excited. My kids love bingo night at the school!

My daughters and I are spazzing and getting lots of great kid prizes. I plan to get some for adults too. I want everyone to get a prize like at my kids school. If this goes well I would love to make it a regular event.

    • Heidi M

I believe there will be about 15 women and 15 kids. I will check to make sure it is ok for guys to help.

Looking forward to helping such a great place. I will bring some prizes for sure. Is there a price range you need to stay within?

    June 9, 2013

    • Heidi M

I would suggest about $5-$20 per prize. There will be both women and children playing bingo. Maybe a couple small prizes and a couple bigger ones.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
