Songwriting Workshop - The Song Swap

  • November 9, 2013 · 1:00 PM
  • Jeff's House

Saturday afternoon songwriting song-swap workshop. Bring one of your completed songs, you'll perform the song and then we'll break up into groups and one of the groups will learn your song and perform it back for you, either in its original form or changed. Depending on how many people we have will depend on how many groups we split into. So if there's enough for 3 groups we'll swap 3 songs at a time. If you don't want to swap your song and just want feedback on a song you've completed or are working on that's fine as well but the day will start with the song swap. Bring copies of your song to pass around. Directions will be emailed prior to the meetup.

Hey Brian, he told me he had an idea for a song and asked if I'd try and write the lyrics. I gladly obliged and then found out a couple of months later he was going to record it on his next CD. You can check it out on I-tunes if you want.

Third song on Toby Walker's new CD "Everything I Want". The CD is called "What you see is what you get". Great acoustic blues CD.

Fun afternoon of songwriting. Not only do we get to hack away at someone else's song but we have to perform it as well.

Sorry, but I'll have to skip this one as well.

Wife refuses to drive me up from Fl while I spend 20 hours working on new material in the back seat.

Musicians wish to express their interpretation of life thru sound. The ideas seemed to b accepted more readily. What a powerful tool for manipulating the world. Musicians are shadow politicians, who inform not coerce.
