Giving Pirouette a whirl ;-) at 20h30

There has been much talk in foodie circles about Pirouette, a small restaurant near to Etienne Marcel, which opened not too long ago - as much for the incredibly good value it represents (prix fixe dinner at 36 euros) as for the amazing quality of the food. As one reviewer put it:
"Go? Silly question. The big boys love it, the New York Times will feature it soon and I'll try to get in as much as possible before it becomes the next Spring, Chez L'Ami Jean or Frenchie for die-hard webfoodaddicts...."

Need we say more? :-) Now the bad news...because it is a teeny tiny restaurant they don't do group this time it really is a mini-dinner as we have a table for 6 only, the maximum they will do. It will be cosy!! Please note that unlike most of our dinners this starts at 20h30, not 20h., and as ever we will reserve one spot for a new member who has not yet made it to a group dinner.

An excellent table, every dish beautifully composed and several unusual choices (alouette). The gariguette with rhubarb and pistachio parmentier a perfect closing to the meal. Recommended without hesitation

a little literary anecdote : la rue Pirouette appears in Emile Zola's "The belly of Paris" ...unfortunately the street disappeared during the modernisation of the area (which, to my opinion, was a crime !!!)
