Hello everyone,

For our next dinner I booked a table at a new Brazilian restaurant Maloka. Given the weather in Paris, I think we could need some tropical vibes, even if only on a plate:-)

It’s a discovery for me as well, but based on the reviews we can expect some typical ingredients like tapioca, cachaca, picanha, manioc.. It is a fixed menu of 4 plates. The menu may change a bit depending on the available indgredients, so I can only give you a description from Le Fooding of what has been served to them (comparing with other reviews it seems to be consistent in terms of flavors): “ It all begins with a caïpirinha (€10) served with spicy blood orange chips, Galician beef picanha and creamed sweet potatoes, gougères made with tapioca flour and Comté cheese; then an intense coconut broth, whipped with cachaça and baniwa (a local chili); delicate bass with tangy passion fruit, tapioca balls and hazelnuts; tender cod cooked at a low temperature, served with black beans, crunchy diced coconut and a lemon confit jus. The voyage continues with the desserts: cilantro ice cream and a farofa crumble (cassava flour) with toasted notes or an açai sorbet (the blueberries of the Amazon), warm banana, and a tuile made from the same fruit seasoned with cachaça” I definitely want to give it a go :-)

The menu costs 36 euros + drinks. I have booked a table for 6.

Look forward to seeing you there
