Good Reads and Good Eats -Ann Arbor Nov Meetup

Join us on Tuesday November 5th 2013 at 7 pm. Please read EITHER Disgrace by JM Coatzee OR The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison. We will meet at Grizzly Peak. You are strongly encouraged to join the waiting list. Almost everyone on the waiting list ends up getting to attend because the early responders often have something else come up and then change their RSVP to "no" - which automatically adds the first person on the waiting list to the attendees.

Please bring $1 to help cover the costs of using the Meetup website and cash to make paying the check easier for our large group.

Fabulous. As usual, I got so much more out of the book with discussion.

I've re-read only Disgrace so you'll have me for company... :)

I'm with ya Steve and Jay - almost finished with Disgrace. Nothing like a deadline ;-)

I've read both books. Are there going to be two different discussions taking place or are we going to be discussing both books simultaneously? I'm just trying to figure out the logistics of the discussion.

We'll have tow simultaneous discussions, but I imagine that a bit of musical chairs will be happening since quite a few people have read both books.

Will start reading Disgrace as soon as I can get up to Brighyon to pick it up from the library.

I've read both (but a long time ago). 'Disgrace' is easier at hand - on a bookshelf while 'The Bluest Eye' is in a box in my sister's basement... So, unless I have a tremendous surge of being organised, I'll take the easy route and re-read 'Disgrace'. But they're both wonderful and Toni Morrison is one of my favourite authors. So I might be a butterfly on book club night and listen in on all the conversations!

Haven't started yet but planning on reading The Bluest Eye - I haven't read maybe one other Morrison novel and am interested in reading another.

I'm reading The Bluest Eye. But it was a tough choice! If I can find the time, I'd love to read both!

  • Stacey

I'm trying to make my way through both! :-)
