The hike begins at 7:00 pm at the Visitor Information Center by the R Street Gate. Please arrive at 6:30. The group will leave the building promptly at 7:00. The Arboretum security will lock the Arboretum R Street Gate at 7:00 pm, and no one will be allowed to enter after 7:00 pm. Free parking is available just inside the R Street Gate. The Arboretum closes at 5 pm each night, but it is opening exclusively for us, so you can see the Arboretum at night. Your official Arboretum guide will share points of special interest and seasonal highlights.
Join us as we explore the beauty of the 446 acres of the National Arboretum. This four-mile-long, mildly strenuous hike is a magical trip through moonlit gardens, meadows and woods. Discover how the striking landscape of the arboretum changes under the moon and stars of the night sky.
Love checking out new trails to get a workout while you enjoy great scenery? You won't want to miss this two-hour walk over hilly and uneven terrain, which is more of a brisk hike than a tour - all beneath a full moon! So wear good walking shoes, dress for the weather, and join us tonight. Not recommended for children under 16.
The U.S. National Arboretum leads this hike, so it is up to the Arboretum whether this event is postponed due to inclement weather. If the event is postponed, it will be held Monday, April 14 instead, per U.S. National Arboretum policy, and all attendees will be automatically put on the attendee list for Monday, April 14.
