Attack Wing Tournament

Month Six Dominion War event! This is for the big prize! Details below. PLEASE NOTE: the game is on a Sunday, not a Tuesday. I want to be able to get in three good rounds. We will go back to Tuesdays for the filler tournaments, and the Collective series.

Fleet: 100 points
Admirals Orders: your choice of 1; Unified Force or Strike Force
Faction Penalty: 1 point per card (standard penalty)

The scenario is on the Dominion War website. Within the scenario, victory will go to the last man standing. If both players survive 1 hour, the tie breaker will be points of enemy ships destroyed. Within the tournament, the standard 2 BP for win, 1 BP for loss will be used to determine the winner of the tournament, who will recive a Bajorian Interceptor.

The Stormtrooper Prize will also be a Bajorian Interceptor. Every player gets one entry to the drawing. Every time a player rolls three or more attack dice and gets no hits or crits, (blanks or battle stations only) they get one additional entry to the drawing. You may modify your roll after I give you your entry.

The DS9 model will be awarded as follows:

*For each tournament (1-5) you have attended, +1 point. *For each tournament (1-5) you have won, +1 point.
*For winning a game in tournament 6, +2 points.
*For losing a game in tournament 6, +1 point.
*For being in control of DS9 at the end of any match in tournament 6, +1 point.

Most points wins. If there is a tie, then all tied players will play the fleet they brought to the tournament in an undisclosed scenario. Winner takes all.

Under these rules, we have, I belive, one or two people at 6 points, one or two at 5 and a few at 4. A perfect showing at tournament 6 will net you 9 points. (win 3 games, and be in control of DS9 at the end)

NOTE: "Last man standing" does not include away teams on DS9 - if your last ship is destroyed, but you have an away team on DS9, then you will lose the match, but may gain credit for controlling DS9.

I am aware that this method weights the prize in favor of people who have been with the tournament longer. If anyone has any other objection to the proposed scoring system, do not hesitate to bring it up. Looking forward to seeing you all!

Does anyone know where I can find the starter pack?

The Dragon seems to be out. I think realms still has a few. Google for the address, I've only been once. Get a starter there, but if you buy at least one booster at the Dragon, I will give you some stuff from the old tournaments. Also, if you are unsure what you want to play, grab the starter, and you are welcome to borrow from my box.

Most of us were new at one tournament or another :-) I teach as I play, and Aaron lets people borrow ships.

I don't play, since I'm running the tourney, but I can teach while I'm running it. The event should last four or five hours, and I will probably stay after for a while. Come on down, we will be glad to have you.
