Gather together to participate in a special evening of memory potluck as artist Patricia Moss-Vreeland and Dr. Marcia Pelchat from the Monell Center preside over a community table while illuminating the numerous connections that interlace the art and science of smell, taste and memory.

Free but Limited seating. Please only ticket if you can make it.,in

As a first course, Moss-Vreeland will discuss her unique new book, A Place for Memory, Where Art and Science Meet, which relates memory to creativity through a visual and verbal feast of her artwork, poetry, and metaphor, designed to evoke your feelings and remembrances.

Dr. Pelchat will provide counterpoint using interactive demos to explain the science behind our senses of smell and taste and why smell in particular is so pivotal to forming and triggering emotionally-laden memories. We invite you to bring an especially meaningful dish or recipe to share —perhaps a treasured family recipe, a remembrance from a special night in your life, or something concocted in a burst of creativity.

The evening will conclude with your personal revelations surrounding these special dishes - what significant memories they hold.

Books will be available for purchase!

Very good experience. Good talk, good sense of smell experiments and quite a smorgasbord. The beer and wine were an unexpected bonus!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
