First Friday: Cider, Cyder, or Cidre? + Art Gallery

  • June 6, 2014 · 5:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

The Chemical Heritage Foundation gives a talk on Ciders. Varieties from around the world will be on offer to taste.

Please note, samples are limited and will be provided to guests who are 21+ as long as supplies last!

Once this event is done, some of us plan to head over to an art gallery opening event for one of our group members (Gina C.) who will be exhibiting her neuroscience related paintings among others. That will be at Artist House Gallery (57 N 2nd St).

Once the talk starts at 5:30, it will be difficult to find our group, so try to head there a bit early. The CHF staff managing the event are familiar with our meetup group, so if you ask them, they may be able to lead you to us.

Event Description>>

In honor of Philly Beer Week, CHF welcomes Michael McCaulley, wine director of Tria, to talk about what he considers the perfect beverage: cider! Join us as McCaulley explain the cider-making process and its growing popularity in recent years. We will offer cider varieties from around the world to taste.

In addition, visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to visit our new exhibit, Suited for Space, and handle objects from our new teaching collection.

Interesting talk and cider sampling by the wine expert from Tria. Great event once again by CHF. The American cider was sweet, but the British cider was dry and good. The basque cider on the other hand smelt like spoiling bananas. Which makes sense given its made from fallen apples, worm and all!
Thanks for the big turnout and also coming to the art gallery to wish Gina the best.

I am wearing a deep blue shirt and will have meetup sign in hand.
Come early if you can and check out the new exhibit on space suits.
After this event, will be heading to over to Artists House (around 4 blocks away) for one of our members gallery opening. Gina does some cool neuroscience related paintings.
If you do come early and they start distributing samples, don't wait for the rest of the group. Remember, samples are limited;-)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
