'The Contradiction' Premier in Orlando

Florida Freethought Film Festival Foundation, working in conjunction with Black Nonbelievers of Metro Orlando, will put on the first-ever Florida screening of “Contradiction,” a very penetrating, full-length documentary that shows the ill effects of religion on America’s most religious community: the black community. The documentary is produced, written, and directed by Jeremiah Camara, a black atheist who also previously produced the provocative online series called “Slave Sermons.” Camara has also penned a number of books, including “Holy Lockdown: Does the Church Limit Black Progress?", and "The New Doubting Thomas: The Bible, Black Folks & Blind Belief.”

Camara will be at the Orlando screening to sign his books and to participate in a post-screening panel discussion hosted by Black Nonbelievers of Metro Orlando. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

This event is a continuation of the important pioneering work of Black Nonbelievers of Metro Orlando, which is the only group of its kind in the entire state of Florida that is nationally affiliated. Our group continues to blaze a trail for atheists of color in Central Florida and in the state of Florida as a whole.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
