Re: [atheists-36] Creation-Evolution Lecture @ University Club Tuesday 10AM

Jack and all:

I went to University Club a number of months ago when he spoke. The
guy is a complete young-Earth creationist and explicitly gives the
whole argument about evolution destroying morality, etc. If you ask
a question he will often try to bully you by peppering you with his
pro-forma creationist questions. I wouldn't let him get away with
that and sometimes interrupted him, pressing him on points whenever I
thought he was bullying others with leading and nonsensical
questions. One question I asked, which didn't get answered, was if
his morality allowed him to knowingly lie in order to save
souls. (That's what I think he is up to.) By the way, he gives
impressive-sounding credentials and I questioned him about the truth
of some of that too, especially when he claims lots of scientists
agree with him. I asked him to name one, and he named some Russian.

Dear Members,

For those who can make this lecture/discussion at the University Club
tomorrow here's the info again. I'll have few questions to ask Mr. McMurtry.
