You don't have to go to England or Canada to find poor dental care and bad medicine.

Considering the distribution of wealth in the USA today it is VERY questionable indeed if, in practice, "one has the right to the
fruits of one's labour".  All wealth is produced by work and there are, of course, different kinds of work. The greatest threat to
your hard earned money is not income taxes. You may or may not have noticed that monetary reward no longer seems to be coupled with
"industry and skill".  We live in a society where capital is the key to earnings and not labour. A certain redistribution of wealth
through taxation and used for a national health care insurance plan may be just one way of correcting such inequities and not an
infringement upon your rights and liberty but rather a fair return.

By the way the American income tax IS constitutional as per the 16th amendment even if we often hear undocumented statements to the
contrary. Myself, I can agree that there may be other methods more suitable today where a labour intensive field such as health
care, which employs very many people, is burdened with costs for labour while process industries such as paper mills and refineries
which have replaced labour with technique create wealth with much less labour.

You may call the system of levying income taxes "communist" but then you would probably call the taxation of capital by the same
name.

A really nice quote from Thomas Jefferson on the subject of income taxes for purposes of general
welfare:

To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his father has acquired too much, in order to spare to others
who (or whose fathers) have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association,
"to guarantee to everyone a free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it."
