I am sorry for what you're going through right now.
I saw Steve's unfortunate post late last night after getting home from Carraba's, where my wife & and I treated two friends to dinner for their 11th anniversary.
Norma, you are "on fire" for humanity, passionately interested in everything which affects us and life on Earth in general. It's a wonderful way to be. I share most of your concerns but, although I sometimes weep for the likely future path of our species, I don't think I can match your passion and commitment. It's more than most people can, or want to, do. You should take that into consideration when people lash out. I know it's not an easy thing to do.
I guess my point is, don't sacrifice what's good in a search for the ideal. The search is key; don't give up on that, but consider, concerning our group, slowing down to a speed they can keep up with. . .
Please don't give up on OFH. Nothing humanity touches is perfect, but I think there's a part of your "soul" they can nourish and respond to, although it may take awhile for wounds to heal.
