Subject: "NUDE NITE" (14th Annual) --Orlando Feb. 14-16 -- Come Celebrate the Beauty of the Human form & the Creative Spirit in all of us -- that's helping us to EVOLVE BEYOND the strictures of repressive-of-the-body, fear-guilt-& shame-oriented religions!
This is the largest nude art show in the country says the website. I went the first year & one other time. Going again this year--not sure which nite yet. Was FABulous both times I went. I was the subject of a photography exhibit piece the lst year--had done some nude modeling for a established Winter Park art center avant garde photo shoot (when my hair was still long) that was accepted for display. Was SO eclectic--everything from the esoteric to performance art to energetic/intellectual/elegant to the eye-popping. Was Amazing! that first year that Orlando "allowed" such an event. Well. . . art can "get away with" much that other genres can't.
I just found out about it Sunday evening by happenstance at the Raw Food Valentine's Affair potluck I went to (where I took organic, marinated portobello mushrooms I'd made)-- when someone told me that the centerpiece of the Nude Nite Poster on the door of the fine arts studio where we meet & eat outside was designed by the host artist herself. That piqued my interest further & reminded me I hadn't been to this event in a long time.
The video on the website of some previous nude nites gives you an idea of what to expect -- pretty inventive & "edgy" stuff. A definitely-liberating event for Orlando. Is held this year in a large warehouse in downtown Orlando on W. Church St., just W. of I-4, near the Amway Arena.
