Subject: Preying on faith

Dear Faithful America member,
If everyone receiving this email donated just $5, we'd be able to double our staff and not ask you for another cent until next year.
Of course, not everyone can or will make a year-end donation to Faithful America. But without the support of those who can, our work would be impossible.
In 2014, we're planning to expand our team and run more of the campaigns that make headline and show that right-wing extremists don't speak for Christianity -- whether they're politicians who wage ungodly attacks on the poor and then try to exploit our faith to get re-elected, or Catholic bishops who haven't gotten the message from Pope Francis.
But really, it comes down to the support of members like you. And with just a few hours left in 2013, your donation will make the difference.
Faithful America's campaigns consistently make headlines, challenging right-wing extremism and showing how Christian faith can be a force for social justice and serve the common good.
Next year, we're going to continue to:
  • Make sure right-wing extremists don't get to speak for Christianity in the media. Whether it's Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson or the Family Research Council's Tony Perkins, we're going to challenge media outlets when they present hateful bigotry as the Christian point of view.

  • Hold politicians accountable for exploiting Christian faith for unchristian purposes. Having spent this year waging an ungodly attack on the poor, conservative politicians are going to spend next year wrapping themselves up in Jesus and the Bible to get re-elected. We can't let them gets away with it.

  • Support Christian leaders who work courageously for social justice. There are unsung heroes across America who are showing what it means to truly follow Jesus by putting their lives and careers on the line to challenge injustice -- and they need our support.
We're running all of these campaigns with a tiny staff and a shoestring budget. And we need your support to continue.
Thanks!
-- Michael and Aaron
P.S. Because our work includes holding politicians accountable and advocating for legislation, donations made directly to Faithful America are not tax-deductible. You can instead make a tax-deductible donation to support our educational work via our 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor.
