Suvash will be giving a talk about Git, Github and Heroku.

If you'd like Suvash to tailor the talk as you'd want, please feel free to fill in this form. ( Of course, it's anonymous )
http://suvash.wufoo.com/forms/let-me-tailor-the-talk-as-youd-want/

If there is time afterwards, we can try it out and perhaps deploy something on Heroku.

    Sure Anders !

I use oh-my-zsh and have modified one of the themes provided for my command line. I basically followed this guide when I started with my zsh customisation. http://stevelosh.com/blog/2010/02/my-extravagant-zsh-prompt/

For vim, I use Powerline for the status bar. I would recommend using Vundle+Pathogen for managing vim packages. has woked good for me.

And further, my dotfiles are all online at https://github.com/suvash/dotfiles where one could literally recreate my setup.

it was a little undesided on if it was a inspiration talk or a informal talk and that made it hard to follow.

Excellent presentation. Suvash put a lot of work into preparation, and it shows. I learned about git, github, and Heroku, and am still thinking through the interesting possibilities they allow; especially the SaaS aspect of Heroku.

Just a thought on the discussion about github we had yesterday. There was a question about each fork having its own issue tracker, and also about relying on one person to keep the master repository up to date.

I don't think it was mentioned that you can actually give multiple users commit-rights to a single repository. This makes it possible for a group of core developers to collaborate on the master repo, which kind of solves these problems (i guess).
