Weekly Meeting

Grace Toastmasters is an open to everyone. Our goal in Toastmasters is to become better speaker and better leaders. Many of our members start with a fear of speaking in public and we work with them to overcome that.

Our meetings begin early at 6:45am. We like to start promptly at 6:45 as most of us have full-time jobs and we need to finish and leave at 7:45am to get to work.

A typical meeting will have to members making prepared speeches and two other members designated as their evaluators. The prepared speeches range in length from as short as four minutes and up. Most are five to seven minutes. The evaluators listen to the prepared speeches and point at what the speaker did well and what areas need improvement. We are a very supportive group!

We will also has a period of extemporaneous speeches called Table Topics. Our Topic Master for the Week will suggest a subject and randomly pick someone to speak on that subject for one to two minutes. The speaker usually speaks on the suggested subject, but they don't have to. This is generally a very fun part of each meeting.

We generally conclude by voting on the Best Prepared Speaker, the Best Evaluator and the Best Table Topic Speaker.

We hope to see you early Thursday morning! We always have coffee!
