Re: [Grails-Boston] Meetup Proposal: what's new in Grails 2.0 and Groovy 1.8?

Hi Jim,

Thanks for volunteering! What I thought might be a nice format (and let me know if you disagree / would like to do something different), is that the speaker would run through the new Grails 2.0 features, and then lead a discussion with the group about the potential usage of said features. Furthermore, if you've already been using 2.0 your experiences so far would be excellent material.

Thoughts? Still up for it? If so, perhaps the Wednesday or Thursday in the 2nd or 3rd week of November? From 7:30 to 8:30 or so? Also, we generally host the meetings out in Newton Center, right off the Green Line.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and we can work out the details. Thanks again!

Hi Steve,
I'd be willing to do a presentation on the features of Grails 2.0x. While I've been using 2.0x, it's been primarily for light weight work: test suites, fix it scripts etc. I'm starting this week on some new internal application frameworks using 2.0x as well.
Let me know your thoughts on potential focus features, date, location ...
Thanks,

Jim Mason

Subject: [Grails-Boston] Meetup Proposal: what's new in Grails 2.0 and Groovy 1.8?

Hi All,
There's a suggestion for a Meetup currently about what's new in Grails 2.0 and Groovy 1.8 (http://www.meetup.com/Grails-Boston/events/34746092/). Given that the Grails 2.0 Release Candidate 1 was released today, it seems timely. Would anyone be willing to give a presentation or demo of the new features to the rest of us?

-Steve
