I'm afraid I'll be working nights that weekend :( Also I find the title of this meet up disconcerting.

Sorry about the title it is a joke. It is because the site doesn't allow you to schedule a meeting without setting a title for the meeting. people can suggest titles if they want to and we can change them.

I wasn't! I'm not keen on Valentine's day in general, but if I were I wouldn't want to spend it with you lot.

I have an idea -- perhaps when we arrive on Saturday, we can set up a rotation where everyone can work with everyone else for a timed period -- let's say 20 minutes / half an hour or so, depending on how many people are there.

I agree. I think people should declare their aims at the beginning of the session, and then we can have a think about how to move forward. People just turning up and the whole thing just trundling along can be very unproductive for a lot of people.

30minutes minimum is good for me and I look forward to hear from the new people. Also wanted to suggest the following meeting on the
18th as on the 25th there is the London Excel convention that few of us will attend. Graeme will that be good for you?

I am happy to organize a system at our next meeting, if you want. I'm good at organizing other people's lives, just not my own.

PS This looks really interesting. I'm torn whether to go or not, as I would dearly love to stay at home tomorrow, but you never know ...

OK guys I'm going to try and sort us out tomorrow. Please come with some work and some idea of the next steps you would like to take with it. When you come, we'll try and match you up with two, maybe even three people with whom you can work. The most important thing is that you are aware of your next steps so that people's critiques can be well-directed.

Hi - apologies I couldn't make it today. Too much red wine. One thing - the 18th is OK for me, but can we call the next Meetups "Feedback Workshop" so that potential newcomers will understand what the event is.

It was a good meetup! One of the notes I took was some decisions what progress to bring along to the next one (tho' "next" for me may be more "when I've done those next actions so I have something to show"). I think I'd like to have a bit of actual script I could read out, some actual sequential art from my project to show and / or a board full of index cards showing my story planning (using the Celtx software or similar).

It was good to see the new people. There was some incredible art and god concepts too, so I look forward to see as they develop.

Even if you're own project isn't ready, giving and hearing feedback or even just seeing other people doing the same thing you love can give you a kick start.
