Thanks for all the location suggestions. Let's go to Tapas Cafe this time for drinks and maybe some tapas if you like. :) Next meetup (Sept), we plan to have a joint meetup with the web design group and there will be 2 wonderful speakers talking about typography on the web.

http://www.tapasiarestaurants.com/location.html.

"Tapas Cafe is in Suk 11 Walking Street, the first sub-soi on the left in Sukhumvit Soi 11 - about 3 minutes walk from Sukhumvit. The nearest places to park are at Villa Supermarket, or the Ambassador Hotel."

See you there!

@Pamela: Not being mean Pam, just questioning the suitability - i.e. not for me, *thanks* :)

haha... coyote's is actually a mexican restaurant with greasy food. i don't like the food there. thai people can be quite insensitive about names, in additional to being male chauvinistic. there's a rice brand called kkk. :D tapaz on suk 11 (near suk 11 guesthouse and cheap charlie) sounds good. that's convenient too. thanks for all the ideas!

Well, excuse me for living, I was just trying to be helpful. I'm not even free to attend. If you don't like the venue, just say so, you don't have to be mean about it, Adam.

Yikes! Coyote's?! "Ladies Night"?! A meetup for designers & creatives...?! I'm out!

    July 29, 2011

  • Pamela

Coyote's on Sukhumvit has Ladies Night every Thursday, free magaritas for ladies from 6-8pm. Gents and ladies get 2 for 1 happy hour from 5-7pm. Food's not bad, not too expensive, certainly better and cheaper than WTF. Suggest the second floor tables for conversation. The place gets full until 8pm, as you can imagine, but then it starts to thin out by the time your real meeting starts around 8:30pm, so it fits in with this group's time pattern. Suk 33, near Promphong BTS.

Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand is an excellent place for talking and eating and drinking. (as long as they don't have a program on the night of your MeetUp) You can just ck with the office of the FCCT. You can use my membership, or the membership of any other member of the group.

Can't go too far from the Obama party, I'm the organiser - was hoping that the two get-togethers could be in the same venue. But Bull's Head is nice, too. You guys should make sure somebody gets there early, to hold a table. They sometimes fill up, you never know.

Please come! We will have so much fun with you.

Bull's Head is great. In fact, that would be a wonderful place for the group to go to regularly. Wish I were free.

You guys could meet at the Roadhouse on Rama IV at Suriwongse, on the first floor, and then come up afterwards to the Obama 50th BD party on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The buffet is 380 baht net, and beers 80 baht net that night, and there's free BD cake. We'll send our photos on a big BD card to the White House with all of the attendees' signatures. There are door prizes, too. Come and join the fun!
