jam on the Beatles, the blues, and Big Railroad

Random Friday night shit-kicker jam. We can play Dylan, Dead, blues, whatever. I'll play drums, or congas if a real drummer signs up. Feel free to RSVP with what instrument you'd like to play and any song suggestions. I'll start Neil Young - Down By the River 'longform' Scarlet/Fire I will book a Studio tonight and I have until tomorrow at midnight to cancel.

Considering it was only two guitars and drums, it was fun.

I too had a blast. I think it worked out as a trio. Sorry my guitar kept cutting out. I just checked my guitar and seems okay. I hope it was the Studio's amp.

I seem to have hurt my back tonight, so it looks like I won't be able to make it regardless. Have fun, guys.

Should be interesting. Like I mentioned, I could lean on my bass strings and boost the bass on the amp some.

    April 25, 2013

  • Michael

We could do three guitars and two drummers.

I'm game (guitar, as if you need another), though only if a bass player signs on.

There is usually a mid-month 'official' jam where we have an electric room, an acoustic room and we pretty much play GD songs. I don't put them up to early because what happens is everybody signs up and come jam time we have a lot of no-shows.
In between I throw up these pickup jams just to get out and play more. You should come Sunday and if you know a bass player, bring him.

Hi Michael., I'm amateur kit and hand drummer into American Songbook standards/Big Band/some jazz/Latin/Middle East. I play congas but with soft mallets not directly with hand.

Would like explore further types of music and saw your two postings, one for Friday and one for Sunday.Love to join jam and check out the music more. I see nice guy, Joseph Navarro, whom I have met, is also attending as drummer. If you have more than two drummers already signed up, should I wait until next time ?

I am confused as to the difference between Friday and Sunday gigs. Appreciate explanation. Hope see you and your group at one of them. Regards

Don't worry about not having a bass. We can work it out. I can lean on the bass strings of my six string.

I booked Studio E (small, no keyboard) for this. We currently have two guitars and two drummers and until midnight tonight to cancel.

Joe, we can rent the congas and share the time on the kit. Just need a bass player now.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
