Bell Pass/Windgate Pass Loop

Please be ready to begin hiking from the trailhead at 7:30 AM. We will start hiking on time. There are no carpool arrangements.

Please indicate in your RSVP if you will be returning from Bell Pass or hiking the loop.

Description:

We will hike from Gateway Access Trailhead around the Bell Pass/Windgate Loop, about 9.5 miles in total.  You will have the option of turning back at Bell Pass. If you turn back at Bell Pass the hike will be about 7 miles with an elevation gain of 1484 feet. Depending on who wants to turn back you may be on your own as you return to the trailhead from Bell Pass!

Significant portions of these trails are rocky, though the trail surface on the east side of the mountains tends to be less so. Sturdy shoes / boots are recommended.

The McDowell Sonoran Preserve website is located here. (http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/preserve/)

As this is not an official hike, we may not have an official Leader or Sweep. Everyone should feel free to hike at their own pace and may go ahead of or lag behind the event host. I’ll ask for volunteers to lead or sweep at the trailhead. It is an easy trail to follow. Maps are available at the trailhead.

Information below is for completing the loop.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
