TWO EXCITING CHANGES FOR THE FRIDAY MORNING HIKES WILL OCCUR IN OCTOBER.
This is a recurring Friday morning hike starting from the Gateway Access trailhead. The hikes will vary each week, but will be 5 miles or less in length and should be done in 1:15 to 1:45.
These hikes will start on time and the expectation is that it will end at or before the stated end time for those who do need to get to work or who want to get to the bacon before it is all gone. After all, we hike in the morning for bacon!
Please make sure you either already know the trail or will study the map and know the route. We strongly encourage you to hike with at least one other person who is going about your same pace.
There is no designated leader or sweep as there are on most of our hikes. Each hiker assumes responsibility for knowing the trails and getting himself/herself back to the trailhead.
The trails in this area are very well marked and easy to follow with just a little preparation. If you have any questions, please send a message to one of the organizers.
I totally agree. Rain is one thing, lightning is another. I will show, but if lightning, will probably round up hikers and go to breakfast.

I will be there if it is just raining; but if there is thunder and lightning like there is at my house now (8:50 PM, Thursday), I will not come to hike.

Hiking can be rough, but someone has got to do it. Rain makes an ordinary hike an adventure.

That's the spirit, Norm! I got totally drenched this morning while out running by those showers that weren't supposed to get here until tonight. I'll be thinking about you as I'm sipping coffee and slaving over a hot computer.

Rain gear may be appropriate in the morning, it is so stylish on the trail. We go, rain or shine!
