Wrench Day (February)

This is an open shop day for people who want to perform basic maintenance such as an oil change or would like to install that new accessory. Or if you don't have any work you want to do but you'd like to help others do some work or just want to hang out and shoot the breeze then come on over.

I've got:
- A large heated space completely protected from the weather
- Harbor Freight table lift
- second motorcycle jack
- decent assortment of basic tools
- air compressor
- dealers for Harley, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Triumph within a few miles in case you need to buy a part from them
- a refrigerator with sodas and beer

What you would need to bring:
- your bike
- whatever supplies/parts you are installing or replacing
- install instructions, owners manual, factory service manual, Haynes or Chilton manual, print outs of web pages, whatever documents you have for your bike and the work you want to perform.
- a small donation to help cover the cost of consumables (aka beer money)

Thanks, Ken, for hosting today. It was great to meet everyone. And thanks for the help with my bike. It's great having a speedometer back and I made it home without the swingarm falling off. In fact, it doesn't look like the swingarm bolt moved a bit. But I'm confident that getting it started today will allow me to get it the rest of the way out next chance I get. Unfortunately, I've got to work all day tomorrow -boo- so that's a good driveway workday lost.

I don't think I'll be bringing any of my bikes out but want to come and meet you guys, maybe help out on what you're working on and learn a few things.

Can you take a "maybe"? Are you cool with KLR-650s? I have a simple job -- I need to replace my speedo cable. I've also got a more complicated job -- grease the swingarm bearings, but the bolt doesn't want to come out, a well known KLR issue. I've got a replacement bolt so I could pound on the one that's in there too, but that may be too ambitious for this get-together. Anyway, I don't know my wife's plans so I can't give a definite response. (Also, so you don't think I'm a deadbeat, I've been trying to pay dues but the site keeps responding with "try later," so I've been unable to respond using the official "yes" button.

If it's got 2 wheels then you're welcome to bring it. Speedo cable is no problem. Bring the new bolt and maybe can get that swingarm done too.

Great, thanks. Curtis, I'm trying to escape from the office right now but I'll send an email when I get home.

Saturday is moving day for me, but I'm going to try to get out there for a least a little bit and say hello. Thanks for opening up your shop to the group!
