Additional Recommendation from Christine Dawdry, weekend event planner.
Fellow Patriots:
As we get closer to the Elections in November it is crucial that we not lose sight of the main goal in heading to DC. We need to have all of our efforts geared to becoming informed voters and to stress to Congress and the Government that we are that swing vote that will determine the election in November. So the Marches and Rallies in September are every bit as important to this movement, if not moreso, than Restoring Honor was. We cannot allow ourselves to sit back and figure we did our thing and showed up in August. August was about restoring honor in our lives and recommitting ourselves to God but it was not intended to be a replacement for the activities of the weekend of September 12th! We must have a huge presence.
There are many activities (especially for those that have their buses or flights arriving on or before the 10th) that should be considered for attendance. The Liberty XPO is now free to all that plan on being in town on the 9th and 10th (cost was $225 for a pass to all). There are classes that are invaluable to the organizers and members of this movement. We need to have those that go to Washington take those classes and come back armed with both what they learned as well as the materials provided, to then teach their groups how to Community Organize, how to canvass, how the system works (both voting and political), how to properly vet, who is who in the movement (resources vs leadership), social networking, how to set up your groups with the IRS to avoid penalties (501C3, 501C4, 527 PAC…do you need to or not), how to account for your funds, etc. American Majority, Americans for Prosperity, Leadership Institute are just a few that are holding these classes! All classes that will be free to the attendees and necessary information being taught by leaders from around the country. There is an Adopt a Congress designed to invite candidates for this 2010 Election as well as those not up for re-election this term, to attend a class with you on the Constitution. The candidates are accepting just out of pure embarrassment as they head in to the election that they might be politically incorrect to turn down an opportunity to get a “feather in their cap”. Besides, we know they all need a class on the Constitution (and they know it, too!). There are plenty of opportunities planned for meet and greets with candidates. There will be a dinner that is so very important on voting hosted by the Ladies in the movement (Homemakers of America, Abigail Adams Project and various Mommy Patriot groups) that will cover voting with Ginny Thomas as their headline speaker. This is one of the most important meetings and will have quite a few surprises not to mention quality moments to be remembered for a long time.
It is urgent we support these events being hosted so we have a large turnout for these classes as well as the marches and rallies on the 11th and 12th. The last thing we want is for “as Rahm Emmanuel says” an opportunity to go to waste” (of course I am paraphrasing it but the idea is there). Please make sure you go to www.marchondc.org to see what the activities are that are being hosted on the 9th and 10th and especially the Remembering the Ladies Banquet the night of the 10th http://www.marchondc..... You won’t regret including that one on your itinerary. IT will be the place to be Friday night!
