Marcus Zusak is an extremely successful and highly praised young adult author. He is known for taking risks, being blunt with subject matter and telling beautiful stories that are compelling and unique. I Am the Messenger
Meet Ed Kennedy — underage cabdriver and pathetic cardplayer. He lives in a shack with his coffee-addicted dog, the Doorman, and he’s hopelessly in love with his best friend, Audrey. His life is one of peaceful routine and incompetence, until he inadvertently stops a bank robbery. That’s when the first Ace arrives. That’s when Ed becomes the messenger. . . . Chosen to care, he makes his way through town helping and hurting (when necessary), until only one question remains: Who is behind Ed’s mission? I Am the Messenger is a cryptic journey filled with laughter, fists, and love.

The book started out slow--so slow that I was tempted to not even finish it. It picked up towards the middle, and the ending and message (in my opinion) redeemed the book overall.

Organizer did a fantastic job of leading discussion, getting everyone involved. Participants were friendly and eager to share. Great group of people, entertaining discussion of an interesting book, and well-chosen location. A wonderful experience all around!

Great first meetup; people seemed to click right away, and were really interested in talking about the book/excited about literature in general.

It was a fun read...a good first book. Meeting the Doorman was the most memorable part.

I thought this book club was an excellent choice for a first book. It gave us plenty of information to discuss. I had such a great time meeting everyone!!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
