If it involves moving my feet and not sitting in a chair, I'm all for it.
I find social dancing most challenging and love the way it brings people together. But line dancing is great too! I have a hard time deciding if I like West Coast Swing or Texas-2-Step better.
The only think I don't like is self-indulgent musicians who get into riffs that never end and lose musicality. I used to play guitars. I don't think musicians should be doing practice riffs when they are performing for an audience.
This is a hard question. I love all music and want to be able to celebrate it by putting it together with dance. My favorite changes with mood. Waltz (Already Gone by Sugarland), Texas 2 Step (White Liar - Miranda Lambert), East Coast (Ding Dang Darn by Ken Domash is a hoot). Here is a "shout out" to Fine Young Cannibals (Good Thing), Matt Natheson (Come on, Get Higher), Sugarland, Bonnie Raitt, Keb Mo, and the list goes on. I haven't even started with Louisiana music (Beau Jocque, Wayne Toups, Cedric Watson, Rosie Ledet, Clifton Chenier, Curley Taylor, Steve Riley). And, in remembrance, I LOVE YOU STEVIE RAY VAUGHN!!!
Ideal occupation would be teaching Zydeco on Bourban Street. Otherwise, would like to spend 8 hours a day in the dance studio and on the floor.
