Thanks, Don. That makes a lot of sense to me, too. I wish I had the time to do something before Labor Day Weekend, but I am afraid I don't. I would love it if you (or anyone willing to grab that baton) wanted to post a meetup between now and then. Otherwise, I urge folks to read Don's post and contemplate running out on their own to check the curbs over the next two weeks. And as for this meetup, I booked us the library at the Democracy Center. As always, as Creedence Clearwater Revival would say, "You don't need a penny just to hang around, but if you have $1-$5, won't you lay your money down (into an envelope to help support the Dem Ctr that's supporting us)?"

Hey guys! I'm Ryan. New here and very new to diving! So, I'm very interested in getting this group together, maybe 2-3 times a week for different kinds of foraging. But first, I'm a little curious as to what luck you guys have had diving/foraging in the city itself? As in, how are they with locked dumpsters, cops, conditions, etc. Are all the best finds in Cambridge, Somerville and in surrounding suburbs? What are the best areas, etc. I'd like this to grow into an off-line community that meets, with some regularity.
If this sounds good, let's move forward! I'm a logistical wizard, so I'll be happy to work out scheduling kinks, etc.
Any questions? Please email me at: [masked].
one love eternal,

I think most stuff gets put out in the several days before August 31. Most leases are up that day, and apartments are supposed to be cleared out by then. Cleaners might come September 1 (or earlier) and sweep up & toss out anything left behind. I saw quite a few piles at the beginning of August from people who I assume moved at the end of July after the grade schools were all finished.
I suspect Labor Day weekend may be a little late.
