Seed starting workshop

It All Begins with the Seed

February is the perfect time to begin plans for your most productive garden of veggies, flowers and herbs yet. You can start many of these varieties inexpensively under a simple ‘gro-light’ set-up that allows you to choose specific varieties not widely available in garden centers. This session will also touch on plot planning to allow for a varied, season-wide harvest.

Judy Elliott, former Education and Community Empowerment Coordinator with Denver Urban Gardens, has over 25 years of experience connecting adults and youth with garden-based nutrition and plant activities. She conducts the Master Composter Training and Outreach Program for the City and County of Denver and is passionate about the ways in which gardening can bring communities together.

$15 fee covers instructor time and materials. Maximum 20 people.

Any chance of having this again for those of us who couldn't make this one? I really need it.

I am a stay at home mom of 3 (3,2, 1 years old) so my kids pretty much have to come with me wherever I go, wondering if its ok to bring them? And if not, is there a meetup coming up that's ok for them?

Hey Jen, sorry I missed your question earlier - kids are welcome as long as they don't disrupt the learning experience for other folks. We want them to get comfortable with the earth as early as possible... :-)

Judy was wonderful! She has such great respect and enthusiasm for every aspect of growing from seed. She teaches with simplicity and ease and made me believe that I could actually do this... and I can barely keep a cactus alive. Brilliant.
