Soap making for the holidays

The ice and cold created issues with the soap class set for last Thursday - I offered a replacement class for this Sunday, November 24th from 2 to 4. We will cover the cold process soap making method and what will help you create your own soap for personal use or gift giving.

Would we be taking soap home and be making soap or observing?

We will make soap and observe - soap takes 24-48 hours to finish the saponification process and another couple of weeks to finish drying. I do have different soaps you can purchase if you want something already made - I charge around $1 per ounce - most bars are 3-4 ounces.

What is the cost? Do I need to bring any materials?

So to confirm my understanding, you are supplying the articles needed?

I will show you how to make cold process soap and describe the various ingredients that you will need to purchase to make your own when you are at home. I use palm oil (Spectrum has a brand available at Vitamin Cottage) coconut oil (you can use organic or regular - King Soopers has this) and olive oil. You will need lye which can be purchased at Ace Hardware although I have a few containers you could get from me. I have some colored oxides you can purchase in small amounts if you want to try a color.

Want to make sure if everything will be provided? Do I need to bring anything besides the $15? Thanks

Sorry about missing the cost - $15 donation - I will show you what items you can use to make soap and where you can purchase locally - so there is nothing else that you need -
