Our next Educational Potluck will be July 11th at 6:00 PM at Waste Farmers www.wastefarmers.com (at Timberline Gardens 11700 W 58th Ave Arvada CO) Mara King of Ozuke http://ozuke.com/ & her sister, Willow, got addicted enough to making live, raw krauts & kim-chis in their home kitchen to enjoy with their families & friends that they went from kitchen to factory. Maybe it’s the probiotics themselves: those invisible forces that are working around the clock to bring us good health and vibrant awareness; maybe it’s the organic farmers and all the love they put into growing their produce; maybe it’s the fact that we live in a time that requires us to think more about what we are putting into our bodies and what we are giving back to the Earth. Whatever it is, they love it and want to keep riding the wave of pickled goodness that has brought them this far. Mara will share her knowledge of & passion for this healthy, delicious food. She will be covering a basic seasonal kraut using some wildcrafted ingredients & discuss fermentation safety & fermenting foods from a permaculture point of view. And maybe her passion will rub off on you & before you know it, you will have another addiction to add to the chocolate (which starts as fermented cacao beans) or local beer (another fermented product). These raw, live, active foods aid in digestion, heighten immune response, and are both alkalizing and cleansing to the body. Food as medicine. These potlucks are cost & waste free, so please bring your own plate, utensils, cup, etc. Please bring food to share. Come to enjoy the food & connect with your neighbors. We are ALL neighbors on this floating orb, our shared Mother known as Earth. Michael :-} P.S. **Bring a quart size ball jar to bring a kraut baby home to ferment. And Timberline Gardens is always worth a look.
