Herbal Medicine: Infused Oils & Salves

*This workshop has been cancelled due to lack of registrations.  Remember to register via our website for your next folk school workshop!*

Have you ever wondered if you could make your own remedy for muscle aches and pains, cracked hands and feet, cuts and bruises? Well, you can! Salve can be used topically to promote skin healing, lessen irritations, and deliver medicine directly to the affected area. Join Herbalist Tzuria Malpica to learn the simple alchemy of blending medicinal plants and oils to make fantastic salves.

We will discuss the benefits of edible and medicinal infused oils. Turn simple kitchen ingredients into an all purpose medicine for you and those you love! Each participant will leave with the basic knowledge of the full process of turning infused oils into salve, his or her own salve, and a detailed handout with recipes.

As an Herbalist, Instructor Tzuria Malpica works with families, children and adults. Graduating from the North American Institute of Herbal Medicine in 2012, Tzuria holds a certificate as a Certified Clinical Herbalist as well as a Flower Essence Practitioner. From a very young age it was clear that her deep curiosity about plants would one-day bud into something great. She has always believed in the power of plants and sought comfort amongst the trees and flowers. Through exposure to various healing modalities and many practitioners she discovered her own interest in pursuing herbal medicine as a profession. Her biggest passions include teaching, medicine making, and botany. Tzuria works to support young adults and children through experiential education and strives to help individuals develop a stronger connection with themselves and nature.

No experience necessary. All materials and supplies provided. This is a Parent and Child Approved workshop, meaning that your child (ages 6-13) may attend with you for a reduced price. Seniors (55+) also receive a discount of 20% off of the registration fee. Minimum of 4 participants, maximum of 15. Pre-registration is required.

Cost: $40
