Join Kate Johnson of Briar Gate Farm and John Martin of Stonebridge Farm for an evening of Whey and Wine on Tuesday, August 26, from 7-9 PM at Stonebridge Farm, 5169 Ute Hwy. Kate will show us how to make a semi-hard cheese originally developed by the Trappist monks. This cheese has a mild, creamy and buttery flavor that slices easily and melts well. We will sample several variations made with both cow’s milk and goat’s milk, including a version marinated in Stonebridge Farm wine. And as a bonus, Kate will teach you how to make a cheese press that will cost you absolutely nothing! John Martin will introduce the development of wine grapes in the US and discuss varieties that grow in our region. We’ll sample two wines made with European-American hybrids grown at Stonebridge to pair with Trappist-style cheese. Class Fee: $38 due prior to class date. Email Kate at [masked] <http://email@example.com>; or John at [masked] <http://firstname.lastname@example.org>; to registration.
