Homeschool Program Open House: Young Makers & Young Apprentices

The Young Makers (ages 6-9) & Young Apprentices (ages 10-14) Homeschool Programs at the Living Arts School have been inspired by our love of children. We know that our world today can be fast-paced and media-saturated, and we offer a timely and satisfying alternative…returning to our roots through the work of our hands. Homeschoolers in our program have the opportunity to learn many traditional living skills and crafts, build friendships in a non-competitive, loving community, as well as gain a new understanding of themselves and what lies within. We are convinced that the best teacher is hands-on experience…come join us for a playful and rich exploration of folk arts and crafts.

Folk arts and crafts, and traditional living skills to be explored include:

Food Arts (baking, cooking, food preservation and use of foods for other purposes–such as ink and dye making)
Fiber Arts (knitting, felting, sewing, silk dying, etc…)
Traditional Arts (pottery, branch weaving, candle making, soap making, etc…)
Gardening and Nature Arts (planting, harvesting, tending, foraging, and nature-based art)
Paper and Ink Arts (natural dye-making, basic print-making, paper art, poetry)
Oral and Movement Arts (singing, storytelling, basic folk dancing)

Our next Open House is this Friday, August 29th at 9:30am and will include an Info Session, Q & A, and a tour of the campus.

Please join us with or without your children! RSVPS are requested to [masked]
