A friend of the group, Kelly Sawin, sent this email to me and asked if I could post it:
Hey chicken lovers!
I just started a chicken sitting group for those of us in the Metro Area who would like someone to check our chickens daily while we are on vacation or traveling. It's on a site where tokens are exchanged for service. I have a wonderful sister-in-law who has asked if she can please care for our chickens while we are out of town! :o) Just in case she's unable, I would like to have a backup plan!
I've set chicken sitting to 5 tokens per day and will start each new member out with 50 tokens, so everyone will be able to request up to 10 days of sitting to start. After each member uses their 50 tokens, they must chicken sit for someone else to earn more tokens before they can request more help. Of course, you can chicken sit as much as you'd like!
The website is www.neighborex.com and the name of the group is Chicken Sitters in zip code 80128. You can go there and request to join the group, or I can email you an invitation from the site. Please let me know if you'd like me to send you an invite. Once you get signed up on Neighborex, it's fairly self-explanatory but if you have questions on how to navigate the site, don't hesitate to ask.
I would like to keep this to members who I have met, or who are recommended by someone I know from one of the groups--just so everyone feels comfortable. That will make it more of a friend of a friend situation. Please feel free to pass this along to anyone you would trust enough to know where you live and that you will be out of town.
