New Meetup: Beginning Spinning - For Knitting

From: Everett S.
Sent on: Tuesday, November 3, 2009 9:11 AM
Announcing a new Meetup for Greater Denver Urban Homesteading Group!

What: Beginning Spinning - For Knitting

When: November 17,[masked]:00 PM

Where:
Terri's House
60 Zephyr St.
Lakewood, CO 80201
[masked]

Terri has kindly agreed to teach a spinning calss to the group!

We will look at various fibers that can be spun, including a sheep's fleece and various commercially prepared fibers, and discuss where to obtain fiber. Then we'll prepare some wool for spinning, make a drop spindle from a dowel and a CD (bring any old CDs you may have!) and then learn to spin on a drop spindle.

She has two spinning wheels and an Indian charkha to try, as well as various drop spindles. If you have any spinning equipment or fibers, feel free to bring them.

Carding wool and spinning can be dusty, so wear clothes you don't care about or bring a towel. Terri is asking for $5 to cover the cost of the dowels and fibers. Please bring this and give to her at the beginning of class.
