3 Day Delaware River Canoe trip

I've done this trip for the last few years and enjoy the area. We leave from just south of the NY border and paddle down to the Del Water Gap over three days. Camping two nights along the way on the Jersey side of the river. There are establish primitive sites with Privies along the way.

The trip is a bout 60 miles. You must have your own boat, PFD, and all gear you would need to make yourself comfortable for thee days of wilderness paddling.

It you are interested let me know. We have five folks already I think 3-5 more would be OK. We have to do our own shuttle

OK everyone I know I said I don't cancel trips for weather, But Thunderstorms and wind on an open river are a bad combination. I had folks from DC and up State NY coming on this trip and we all agree it would be safer to bail SO THIS TRIP IS CANCELLED or at least I am not running it. the folks that signed up can still go I have detailed GPX files for nice camp site and the putin if you want them

Nick maybe a reschedule in May would work I think I have trips the first two weekend so maybe the third weekend

It's a safer call; a little drizzle is one thing, but being 7 little floating lighting rods...quite another. :D Look forward to the update on the next one!

It the state park right off I 80. Looks like my arrow is on the wrong side of the river. The River road is the road that brings you around to the park. Look for a cooper colored Ford Expedition with a canoe trailer and a bunch of boats on it

Friday looks so so but the rest of the weekend looks good.

Erick, I sent you my phone number. Just to confirm the meeting site – it is just off of Rt. 611 – correct? I’m looking at the weather somewhat obsessively but am getting packed and will make my decision Thursday AM.

I'd like to hear more details if you don't mind. Are we are meeting at Bangor, PA Friday 7:30am and then some people are driving everyone to the put in while we leave some cars at the take out? Do we have good spots to leave the cars overnight?

Erick, can you verify the meeting spot please. The link at the top shows nothing there exactly. I'm assuming it's the parking lot I see across the river off route 80 on NJ side?

I may be a bit of a fair weather person for this trip depending on temperature. Warm and rainy is OK - cold and rainy not so much. I'll watch the weather and make a decision by Thursday AM if that's ok.

Now that it is looking almost like kayaking weather I also have a few questions. As for food - are there any communal cooking supplies? In the pictures I saw a stove. I have backpacking cooking supplies but may take advantage of something else if available. I’ll bring my extra rack so I will be able to carry another kayak (or two if we get creative and brave) if needed for the shuttle.

I normally bring a Coleman 2 burner stove that we can share. Maybe pick up a bottle of propane from Dicks if you plan on using it. But, this trip is wilderness camping so you musty have your own food and a way to cook it or make arrangements to share gear in advance. I also bring a large coffee percolator might be 12 cups
