Or meet at our home, 24 Pheasant Drive, Bernville, PA 19506 by 5:30 p.m. .

This is on Mountain Road, Tilden Township, Berks County, PA. We will be hiking UP the service road to the Auburn Overlook and perhaps do a loop on the AT and service roads. Maximum distance is 5 miles, but likely shorter.

The best way to get there is to take I-78 to the Shartlesville Exit, # 23. Turn towards Loves on Mountain Road. Stay on Mountain Road for several miles until you see a sign for the state game lands on the left. Park and hike.

This is a steep continuous climb from the base of Blue Mountain to the top of the ridge. Be prepared for plunging air temperatures.

If the weather is ugly, we may just drink home brew at our house. I will post a note by mid-day on the day of the hike regarding weather.

This is not a beginners hike! It is a tough climb up the mountain to the Auburn Overlook. Although the footing is good, the hill is STEEP!

Weather looks great for Friday. Dress warm. Vegetarian chili and homebrew afterward.

OK, if you're game Saturday, we'll keep an eye on the weather. I've done the Pinnacle and Pulpit Rock from Blue rocks a lot and hiked Hawk Mountain.

Right now I have commitments from a couple friends for Friday evening. However, if you want to join my wife and I for a hike on Saturday we would enjoy it. Today we did a nice 9 mile loop from the Hamburg Reservoir in the opposite direction of the Pinnacle. There is much else in that area worth hiking.

I have a headlamp (in case of clouds) and will be joining if the weather is decent. I commute from Lebanon to Kempton daily so it's easiest to stop on the way home Friday. Work phone (717)[masked] for any daytime messages. Neat idea!

We are willing to hike almost anytime. Let us know what your schedule is. We are out every day on a variety of routes between Pine Swamp Road and Rt. 183 or in Blue Marsh.

Saturday night would work much better, if you can swing it.

I am sorry that I will not be joining, but I have a torn meniscus in my knee and can't. So sorry.
