Black Diamond Trail - White Haven to Glen Summit (20mi. R/T Recon Ride)

Cross-posting of my ride from Eastern PA Cycling Group

Let take ride to explore the new Black Diamond Trail. This section of the Delaware and Lehigh (D & L) National Heritage Corridor is now open, but there is a short gap in the trail at Glen Summit pending private property access. This segment of the D & L Trail extends from White Haven to Mountain Top and is locally known as the Black Diamond Trail. The crushed stone trail offers terrific scenery, showcasing Pennsylvania's forested hills, secluded natural areas, wildlife and pleasant communities.

We will ride the roughly 10 miles out to Glen Summit and then return back to White Haven. After the ride we can grab lunch at the White Haven Family Diner (optional) which is right at the trailhead.

Trail surface is crushed stone and suitable for both Hybrid (with at least 32 mm tires) or Mountain bikes. We generally ride at a 12-13 mph average but will always stay with the slower rider. No one gets dropped. It is not required but don't forget to bring a helmet, water, snacks, spare tube, sunscreen, insect repellant, etc.

PS: If people would prefer to meet early before the ride for breakfast at the diner rather than for lunch after the ride just mention it in the comments below.
