Update... we're going to try a slightly different format to accommodate as many people as possible. I am going to have SEVEN teams in this tournament, for two reasons. First off, we need one team sitting each game to ref (I will lower the price to mitigate the down time)... as we need refs at every court for our tournaments, time has proven this. Two, there were folks who missed a captain's spot at the last tournament who we owe spots to this time... and it's such that I'm removing my own team to make room for them (sorry to my guys and gals.. its my responsibility).
Sherry and I apologize for that confusion, so going forward, there will be only one way to register your team for a tournament: have your team paid for in full in advance of the event. The first 6/7/8 captains to do so get the spot. I'll actually make the event itself have x number of spaces at the full price, to be paid through meetup.com like any other week is. So this tournament here is the last one that will be handled in person (it's $90 per now that there is 7 teams). Forgive me please folks, but it's getting tough for me to chase people around the day of the tourney to pay me for the space, and also, I get tons of texts and emails about registering for captain's spots and I must keep this process as impartial as possible... no favors etc, fair play. I love that many of the same folks register teams... you are our reliable consistent members and you bring GREAT teams with you. But we also have to allow for newer folks to register, and this will give them the same chance that everyone else has.
The bad news: this current tourney's roster of 7 captains is full. Captains, $90 at the door, and please don't make me have to chase you for it... there were other people who wanted to get in that could not. I'm not even a captain! The good news: next tournament will have 8 teams across 3 hours, and other than me owing Marc Scott a spot which he literally asked for in January, the others are open. If Sherry and I need to condense into one team, we will, as we want as many of you to be able to be captains as possible. I'm trying to get is 3 hour blocks as much as I can. Anyway... this is long enough. April's tournament will be announced the day after this one is over, March 9th, and it will be 8 teams and $90 per team paid through Amazon. Thanks and as always, this will be a rocking event! We are on fire, crew!
