Hi, on the eve of 'HumanLight' a Humanist alternative for the holidays (December 23rd), we'd like to remind you to join us for our Winter Solstice Luncheon where we'll hear more about this holiday from one of its originators...
On the first of January, we will celebrate the New Year and the Holiday Season together as we enjoy this luncheon, part of our annual Solstice tradition. We look forward to greeting old friends and rejoice in meeting new ones.
In addition to table socializing and lively discussion, Pat Colucci of New Jersey will join us and give a presentation about 'HumanLight, a Humanist Alternative for the Holiday Season.'
HumanLight, usually celebrated on December 23, is quickly growing from its origins in the Philadelphia and New Jersey areas to provide humanists, freethinkers and other non-theists a 'Humanist holiday' with its own meanings free of religious and supernatural history.
We hope you will celebrate the turning of the seasons with us at the Royal East (Chinese) Restaurant in Central Square Cambridge, 782 Main Street 02139. (Directions: After passing by the Royal East on your right, take the next right, Windsor Street, and turn into the first parking lot on your LEFT, repeat, LEFT).
Because we need to tell the restaurant in advance of attendance, please contact Tom Ferrick by Wednesday, December 29 [masked]) if you are definitely coming: the luncheon costs $22 per person, all you care to eat. Vegetarian dishes are available. We have scheduled the event to start at 12:30 but food will be served at 1 pm, to offer us time to socialize as we enter and payments are made. Hope to see you there!
