Let's celebrate permaculture and community together!
Please join us for a potluck and discussion about what new things we tried in our gardens, homes and/or lives this year that were permaculturally inspired! This would also be a great time to ask for advice and opinions on continuing the projects and otherwise inspire each other.
This will be an evening with food and friends, a chance to build our community as well as learn from each other. After we all have a chance to share a meal, we'll spend some time discussing what we've done this year, either in one big group or at each table, depending on how many attend. I will also give you a summary of 2013 for our meetup group, and share some ideas for 2014, looking for your feedback.
Permaculture is about community and people as much as about gardens and renewable energy. There are so many interesting people in this group, and often our meetups are pretty focused on what we are working on/learning - this will be an opportunity to connect a little less formally, learn about each other and network.
Please bring an item to share...and if you've grown it / picked it / preserved it / gotten it locally, all the better! Do note that the church is an alcohol-free facility, so even if you made some great beer or wine, sorry we can't share in it this time!
NEW THIS YEAR: Preserves tasting! If you canned it, dried it, fermented it, etc, please bring it for us to sample - and also bring recipes to share! This could be a fun way to try new things and get ideas for next year.
We aren't charging a set amount for this event, but we will ask for donations of any amount to pay for the space this year.
In our society, some of the sustainable living work that we are passionate about is not always highly valued and reinforced. So, let's come together to celebrate it ourselves!
