Travel Upstate: HARVEST Organic Produce for Food Pantries! (kids welcome)

****THIS WILL BE OUR SECOND TO LAST OUTING****

Come join us at a 22-acre farm in Goshen, NY to HARVEST organic produce for distribution to local food pantries. Children are welcome and encouraged to come :)

Breakfast, snack, lunch, beverages, work gloves, and transportation are all provided!

** PLEASE NOTE: We will have a large school bus leaving from two locations: 7:30am from Manhattan at 125th/Lexington. Yonkers: A bus will leave from 22 Main St in Yonkers (next to Paxos Diner) at 8:15am sharp and will return volunteers to the same location around 4:00pm. Volunteers must commit to the entire day for this event.**

event intinerary:
7:30am: Pick up from Manhattan at 125th/Lexington in front of Mcdonalds. Will be large school with Royal Coach written on side.
8:15am: Pick up in Yonkers in front of Steppin' Up Yonkers on 22 Main Street, breakfast will be given at this time
8:45am: Bus departs, everyone will have been served breakfast
10:00am: Arrival at the farm
10:15am: Begin planting/harvesting on farm
1:00pm: Lunch served
3:30pm: Depart from Farm
4:30pm: Drop off in Yonkers, NY
5:15pm: Drop off in Manhattan Please bring sunscreen, hat, and closed-toe shoes.

More about this project: Started by a nonprofit organization: Steppin' Up Yonkers (www.steppinupyonkers.org) Steppin' Up Yonkers is a community development organization serving low income residents of Yonkers in Westchester. Among many of their programs they run, food pantries has been one of the strongest. Steppin' Up has teamed up with a farm in Goshen, NY to plant and harvest organic produce to later be distributed to various food pantries to those in need.
