If you think Albany is upstate New York, you need to go on this ride. We will be riding the true upstate roads and byways on our way to the beautiful Thousand Islands region of New York. Enjoy a journey along the northern foothills of the Adirondack mountains and the scenic St Lawrence Seaway on our way to beautiful Alexandria Bay. On our way there is a good chance to see Amish farm stands (planned stop at Amish shop for baked goods) and large laker ships all in the same. While in Alexandria Bay, we can take a tour boat ride and learn the stories and history of more then 1000 islands that dot the river. The tours include a stop at Boldt Castle where you can learn the tragic love story of George C Boldt who was constructing this beautiful castle for his wife, who would never see this symbol of love. Other side trips are in the planning, so stay tuned. After our stay, we will journey back on a different path and journey up and into the Adirondack mountains and the high peak region via RTE 3. This journey is still a work in progress, but make sure to mark your calendars for August, 2014.
