Digestive problems are uncommonly common in modern society; the drastic changes to a traditional Homo sapiens diet, the overwhelming presence of subtly (and not-so-subtly) damaging chemicals in our food supply, overuse of medications, even when necessary, ever-increasing levels of stress and inflammation and immune reactivity all contribute to breakdown and dysfunction of the digestive system, as well as many other organs.
The digestive system is our first line of defense for immune response, and first to react to elevated stress. It responds to smells, thoughts and emotions with dramatic changes in activity, and when damaged, can lead to massive disruption of every body system.
Needless to say, healthy digestion is the foundation of good health. Virtually every other health goal you may have in mind requires strong, healthy digestion as a prerequisite.
So then. In this class we'll learn the basics of how the digestive system works, what's involved in imbalances, and how to restore healthy functioning. We'll also go over food sensitivities and how they're related to gastric and immune health, suggesting protocols for both short-term and long-term repair and rebuilding of this critical process.
And we'll have fun, too. Because we always have fun. And we'll make tea and some tincture blends for healing and support, so that everyone gets goodies to take home. Goodies are, um, good.
