Herbal Study Group!

  • Feb 25, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Every Fourth Tuesday of the month, we will be gathering from 7 to 9 p.m. These meetings are by donation, so pay what you can afford! These days, a lot of people can't afford to go to our regular classes, and rather than have folks go without herbal education, I'm donating my time and some fun plant medicines to our growing, wonderful family of herbal enthusiasts.

So if you've been putting off coming to classes because you couldn't afford the $20 class fee, you now have NO excuse! Pay what you can (suggested donation of $5 - $10) and come learn and play with some incredible people every month!

These gatherings are less structured than our usual classes, but will be a great source of herbal education, they'll be VERY fun, and we'll have an additional opportunity to hang out and play together.

I'll leave some time near the end for a Q & A session, so bring Questions, and we'll try to find answers together!

February's Study Group will focus on Sage--all sages: Black, Purple, White, Culinary, Cleveland, as long as it's a member of the genus Salvia, let's discuss it!

Pick a topic and research it if, you want to play along (not required--you can also just come and listen, too, I'd love to see everyone engaged in whatever way works for them). We will discuss:

Botany

Gardening

Wildcrafting

Historical medicinal uses

Indigenous uses

Ritual uses

Magickal uses

Culinary uses

Medicine Making

How do you work with Sage? What forms do you prefer?

We'll play with Sage tonight and discuss ways to use. Bring stories, medicines you've made (and would like to share) that use Sage, extra seeds to trade or share, and questions! See you then.

A friend from upstate New York called and said she is in town. I never get to see her, so I have to cancel this time around. I was really looking forward to this! Next time for sure :).

I probably won't come until the summer when my schedule gets less crazy, but I saw the link on Facebook and though I'd sign up.

Would really like to come, but just realized my daughter's new gymnastics class isn't over until 7:15, so I couldn't be there until 7:45 is that too late to arrive?

Almost ready for Study Group on Tuesday! You may have burned white sage, or nibbled on it, but if you've never tried the fresh tincture, you're really in for a delightful, mind-expanding, euphoric time.
We'll discuss other sages, too, and will sample a fresh aromatic tea of Hummingbird sage and of Black sage, to compare flavors, energetics and effects. Plus my very favorite Salvia: Cleveland Sage. I adore Cleveland Sage.
All of these species (and more) are native to our region, all have distinct and delightful effects.

Whoops! Please note, study groups meet FOURTH Tuesday, not third! I thought it had been updated, my apologies.
